Blue-Collar Staffing for a New Plant or Warehouse Opening

When you open a new plant, production line or warehouse, we plan your team backwards from the opening date — from the position plan and shift rosters to the hiring timeline and opening week.

Staffing a New Facility

Whose payroll are the employees on?

  • Recruitment — employees on your payroll
  • Managed services — run by Gini Talent under a service contract

Recruitment is not labour subcontracting. In recruitment, employees join your payroll. During start-up, a defined operation (for example packing or warehousing) can start as managed services, run by Gini Talent under a service contract. The model is written into the opening plan.

Staffing planned backwards from opening day

Hiring for a new site is not “add people to an existing line”. Key roles are empty, induction capacity is limited and the date does not move. The plan is built backwards from opening; MYK roles (welders, CNC, forklift) go in the first wave.

Key roles, core crew, then operator waves

  1. Key roles: Supervisors, team leads, maintenance — the spine of the shift.
  2. Core crew: First operators who set the process for later groups.
  3. Staggered growth: 50–100 person openings fill in groups against training capacity.

This is methodology, not a headcount guarantee. Same-day offer confirmation and a reserve shortlist reduce ghosting; they do not promise zero no-shows.

When the local pool is not enough

If skilled trades are missing locally, Gini Talent corridors (Pakistan, India, Central Asia and others) are reviewed after a ÇSGB pre-check. Construction sites and food plants use the same backwards calendar.

Wave Who Why first

2 Core operators / warehouse Line and inbound stable
3 Remaining shift roster Fill to the ramp

Process

How it works

  1. Opening plan

The opening date, production or operations ramp-up and position needs are defined.

  2. Roster design

Positions, number of shifts and headcount per shift are planned together.

  3. Key roles

Team leads, shift supervisors and technical roles are hired first.

  4. Group hiring

Operators and floor teams are hired in groups aligned with the training schedule.

  5. Opening & follow-up

Starts and drop-outs are tracked through the opening week and the first 30 days.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How early should we start?

Considering key roles and training time, we recommend starting hiring plans several months before opening. The exact lead time depends on headcount, MYK-certified trades and candidate supply in the region.

What if there aren’t enough candidates in the region?

We assess regional candidate supply during the needs analysis. If needed, we look at shuttle routes, housing or Gini Talent source-country corridors.

How do you plan the training period?

We build the start schedule in groups based on your training capacity, so the whole team doesn’t start on the same day and training quality is protected.

How many people, in which position?

Share your need in a short form. We’ll review it and come back to you with the next steps.
